The 1.8.7 Boxing Club was established in 2016 and is now the leading boxing club in the Sauganash area with highly trained coaches.
Anyone who is looking to lose weight, build confidence, looking for more of a high intensity fitness routine, or even become an amateur to professional boxer then 1.8.7 Boxing Club is where you want to be. The club is intended for everyone who loves the sport of boxing starting at the age of 8 years old.
Head coach, owner, Sammy Merza, is a retired professional boxer who was inducted in the Illinois Boxing, HALL OF FAME in 2017. As a KO artist from amateur to pro, Sammy was nicknamed “Homicidal”, known for his results. From that our motto of the gym became……….
“Where We Kill Body Fat”
Sammy is an active licensed professional boxing promoter in Illinois and Indiana, since 2001. While focusing and building on the club, his passion of promoting arose and he made the choice to bring home the 1st Amateur Boxing Show in the summer of 2022 and by popular demand, the club ended their 3rd show in less than 5 months. We plan on bringing more amateur shows as we branch out for your entertainment. Please check out our events page for highlights of each successful show.
